Harvest & Design:

Thanksgiving Centrepiece

from the Gardens

We are at the height of dahlia season! On October 6th we will take buckets and clippers and visit 3 of my best gardens looking for the most beautiful blooms to harvest. You can expect:

  • Dahlias, zinnias, pincushion flowers, lavatera, cosmos, scented geranium, ammi, amaranthus and more
  • Discussion about best harvesting practises
  • Colour and shape choices for designing
  • Plenty of time for gardening questions.

With our buckets filled we will return to my place for a design demo before creating your own arrangement in a low centrepiece vessel to take home or give as a gift for Thanksgiving.

foraging info night and design demo

With Becky De Oliveira of Blush & Bloom and Bloom School

Wed October 11th, 7-9 pm

We all love the look of wild and organic greens and materials, but do you want to learn more about the do's and don'ts of working with "found" product? Bloom School is here to help and we're happy to announce our Foraging Info Session together with local floral goddess, My Luscious Backyard!

Both Sarah and Becky will demo an arrangement* using beautiful, ethically foraged product, as well as seasonal flowers to compliment. Bring a notebook, we'll be covering the following topics!

• Common things we can forage

• Ethics of foraging

• Tools and tips

• Working with different varieties, etc.

Join us for snacks, refreshments and an evening filled with learning together with like-minded florists!

*Please note that this is an info session and design demo only, not a floral design class.

Cost: $45.  Location: 163 Sterling road, unit 160, Toronto
